What We Do

INTELLIGHT®, that is unique competence and more than 20 years of experience in Expertise, Engineering and Implementation with intelligent plastic, composite and hybrid lightweight solutions. Today, we are THE independent eingeneering specialist in plastics and MULTI-MATERIAL Lightweight Design.

INTELLIGHT® is fully independent from material suppliers and manufacturing technologies. We stand for an objective expertise with a systematic identification of lightweight potentials in almost any industrial branch, based on transparent evaluation systematics.

With state of the art digital engineering methods, including a thorough computer-aided design and numerical simulation process, we develop tailored lightweight design solutions for you. In doing so, we are very closely linked to acknowledged competence networks in order to succeed in finding an optimum solution for your application.

With the manufacturing of adequate toolings and workshop facilities, the production of first functional prototypes and the component testing, we implement your lightweight design solutions up to start of production (SOP).

​

And all-important for you: What we develop for you also belongs to you. You are always closely involved in decisions during the whole development process and you remain in control of the procedure.

Foundation & History

​

The start of INTELLIGHT® in 2018 is already the second successful foundation of an enterprise of Dr.-Ing. Markus Steffens in the field of highly specialized consulting and engineering services.

​

After selling the enginnering specialist ADETE® to a notable company group in the commercial vehicle sector and merging the company into that group, the focus of INTELLIGHT® now is again on multi-material lightweight solutions also in other branches.

​

With the unique competence of more than 20 years experience as one of Europe's pioneers for highly specialized engineering services for plastic and composite solutions, INTELLIGHT® now has extended its consulting business field "Expertise".

​

With INTELLIGHT®, the tradition of successful spin-offs out of one of the worldwide leading research institutes in the field of composite materials - the Leibniz Institute for Composite Materials GmbH (IVW) at the RPTU Kaiserslautern, Germany - is being continued. Today, there exist active cooperations of IVW and INTELLIGHT® on various research topics.

  • 1987 - 1993: Studies of Mechanical Engineering at the Rheinland Palatinate Technical University (RPTU) Kaiserslautern, Germany, Degree: Dipl.-Ing.

  • 1993 - 1994: Research Associate in the Field of "Experts Systems" at the German Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence, DFKI GmbH, RPTU Kaiserslautern, Germany

  • 1994 - 1999: Research Associate and Team Leader in the Field of "Design Development" at the Leibniz Institute for Composite Materials, IVW GmbH, RPTU Kaiserslautern, Germany

  • 1999 - 2018: Founder & CEO of ADETE® - Advanced Engineering & Technologies GmbH, Kaiserslautern, Germany
